Deadline Flurry

Several players were swapped on Sunday as teams prepare for the playoffs. The busiest team was Jon, who finally decided that his team was a seller.

NEXT SEASON: Trade deadline will be moved up

Due to complaints regarding value at this point in the season, next year's trading deadline will be scheduled around the same time as the MLB Trading Deadline.

Here's the debate:

(1) Players don't have the same value this late in the year as earlier.
This is a valid point. As the season goes on, players' value decreases slightly. At this point, with so few weeks remaining, a starter may give you 3 or 4 starts, and the issue becomes what is the proper value of that for a playoff push?

(2) Trades that were vetoed earlier in the year would NOW be fair?
This is a problem. Teams that had trades vetoed in May or June would now see trades go through that were of less value and complain about it. This is the first year we have had such active trading. Again, this is a valid point.

WHY MOVING THE DEADLINE UP WOULD SOLVE THE ISSUE
(1) Teams can still add/drop players on the waiver wire to improve their team.
(2) Teams would be acquiring players with plenty of time left in the season so that the value of the players would not be hurt

Feel free to chime in if you have any other issues.

ALSO - collusion has been alluded to. Please stop accusing us of collusion, or cheating. I would NEVER collude in a league I run. That is just stupid. If your trade was vetoed it is not personal. Please don't take the vetoing of your trade as a personal stab at you. Everyone who has a trade vetoed complains to me about collusion, or makes an argument about why we were wrong. Nothing is meant to be personal and no decisions are made based on our position in the standings and what not.

Obviously, this league needs a little bit of housecleaning.

Justin acquires Prado, a 19th Rounder for prospect Junior Lake and a 15th

To Justin  , a 19th Round Pick
To Gordon  , a 15th Round pick

Prado is a decent acquisition for some flexibility, and Gordon gets to move up 4 round next year. Prado isn't good enough to make this deal unfair.
